Hardware Error 0502 Lexmark

My printer is working just fine again! Reply angie says: 2007-12-02 at 7:52 pm Wiping the encoder strip works the first time, and then it stops working for me! Again, the back part of the printer casing goes in first, then the top front casing. Cleaned the rod on which the cartridges travel and hey presto ! http://ivideoconverter.net/hardware-error/hardware-error-0502-lexmark-x6100.html

Reply John says: 2007-09-26 at 2:52 am I tried cleaning both the rail and the encoder strip and still have the 0502 error. For Shame to produce and unreliable product with no good follow up. Also clean the contacts of the printer. 10. http://support.lexmark.com/index?productCode=LEXMARK_X5150&segment=SUPPORT&page=content&id=HO2707

Reply Rob says: 2007-03-30 at 4:59 am marty, did you actually clean the encoder strip that runs behind the cartridge carrier?….this strip is read by the cartridge electronics. It seems that a "no ink" error trumps 0502, and makes the machine forget it was trying to drive you mad. CLEAN the see-thru tape that is connected to the carriers using a dry cloth, from left to right in one direction. (careful, it is delicate, clean both sides).13.
